The Rural Woman Podcast

Oct 30, 2020

Hey guys, it’s October which some of you may know it’s National Pork Month or Porktober - but did you know that October is also reserved for another, perhaps lesser known protein? That’s right, October is also Goatober!

What started as a small campaign back in 2011 to prolong the lives of billy goats and to put a delicious, ethical meat on the menu has grown into an international campaign bringing together dairies, farmers, NGOs and individuals who are passionate about ending food waste in the goat dairy system.

I hope you all enjoy the replays from the ladies in the goat gang and we’ll be back with brand new episodes starting in November.

...

On this week’s episode of The Rural Woman Podcast you’ll hear from Sara Beth Johnson. Sara Beth co-own's and operates a commercial cow/calf operation, raise meat goats, and even have a few miniature Hereford cattle for fun. Sara Beth works off the farm as a County 4-H Agent where she has been working hard to navigate programming to help continue to serve the kids and families involved during Covid 19.
